Duration: Emergency First Aid at Work - 1 day
This course can be run in-house for up to 16 delegates and the subjects covered can be tailored to suit your organisations requirements. This course is also available to small groups (families, groups of friends etc) and on a 1 to 1 basis for individuals, please contact us for further details.
Overview
The skills learnt on this course are not only invaluable in the workplace, but also at home, outdoors and in general life.
Course Objectives By the end of the course the delegates will be able to:
- Recognise and appropriately treat most emergency situations
- Give emergency First Aid to an injured person until medical assistance arrives
Who is it for? This qualification is aimed at delegates already working or preparing to work in industry that is identified within the Company's risk assessment of First Aid as being lower risk. Delegates gaining this qualification will know that First Aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment. Its topics are regarded by the Health & Safety Executive as being important to maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace

Client specific areas such as head injuries, epilepsy and diabetes etc can be included.
Assessment
This qualification is assessed through practical and oral questioning through the duration the course by the tutor. Delegates must practically demonstrate the application of the correct techniques in all the First Aid areas indicated within the learning outcomes of the unit.
All successful delegates will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate which lasts for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications. After the 3 years, delegates will need to resit the course.
